If we cannot speak of the desert as a landscape because of its variety, it is a landscape absence. This absence attributes its reality to it. We cannot speak about the desert as a place; because it is also not a place; not the place of a place or the place of a no-place. If we cannot intend that the desert is a distance, because it is, at the same time, real distance and not absolute distance, because of its absence of references. It has as its limits four horizons and that is what connects and separates them. It is its proper separation, where this becomes an open place, the opening of the place. We cannot intend that the desert is the emptiness, the nothing. Nor we can intend that it is the term, because it is equally the start.) in Edmond Jabés.
This project belongs to the desert series. Based on the desert concept of Jabés, this project deals with the flow between saturation and emptiness, alienation and absences, overflows and exhaustion.
