nihon nikki [ diários japoneses ] 日本日記


A instalação é composta por dois monitores com dois canais de vídeo, apoiados sobre três tatames. A obra que trata do face a face com a alteridade, um face a face entre as culturas japonesa e brasileira. O elemento central é uma espada que repousa entre os dois performers sobre o tatame (esteira tradicional japonesa).

Nihon Nikki is face to face in between the artist and another a Japanese man. This Otherness can have many faces. This meeting point reveals many small actions that could be read through the tension on the performers body. To touch another culture witch is radically different, in a way is the same to touch somebody’s face. The abyss that bridges the distance, here, was built with a sword.
